Transform ordinary gemstones into extraordinary gemstones

Gem enhancement is a process that transforms an ordinary gemstone into an extraordinary surface-enhanced gemstone. The gem enhancement process uses a world-class nanocoating technology that provides permanent durability as well as preserving gemstone quality without altering or damaging the gemstone.

This patented, space-age technology, and American ingenuity has created a process that allows color enhancement on natural gemstones. Consistent communication will keep the customer informed so there are no surprises. There is two-week lead time for orders and we require a 200-carat minimum volume to initiate enhancements. If an order doesn’t have 200-carats on its own, it may be bundled with other orders which may extend the final timeline for the enhancement.

Gemstones can be supplied by the customer or purchased from Jakkawan Gems. After gem enhancement, our specially trained staff will microscopically inspect each stone. They will determine if the stones have any defects and will test each stone’s tolerance. At the end of the enhancement and inspection processes, the gemstones fall into three categories:

  • Good – These stones have minimal inclusions, chips, or other defects, and are resaleable.
  • Defect – These stones have inclusions and/or minor chipping. These stones remain presentable for resale.
  • Reject – These stones are broken, fractured, or chipped, making them unacceptable for resale. Rejected stones are not included in the enhancement bill calculations.

Jakkawan Gems does not accept returns for enhanced quartz or gemstones. The stones may be reprocessed for a fee and returned to the customer without enhancement. If the customer chooses to have their stone reprocessed, they accept any damage that occurs during the process. Jakkawan Gems may consider a return with a refund of only the stone if the stone was acquired from the Jakkawan Gems website.

Topaz

Topaz is a silicate mineral that is naturally colorless. Impurities in the gemstone can result in the topaz looking pale blue, golden brown, or yellow-orange in color. Topaz is one of the hardest naturally occurring minerals and has a low index of refraction. Orange topaz is the conventional birthstone for November and is the symbol of friendship. The color and purity of the gemstone depend on where it was obtained. Different regions can result in different impurities, changing the color of the stone. A topaz gemstone should be treated with great care. Because of the weakness in the atomic structure of the gemstone, it can be broken apart more easily than other gemstones.

The Mystic Fire Green topaz is a topaz gemstone that has undergone gem enhancement and is now a rainbow of colors. The Mystic Fire Green topaz is thought to hold mystical healing powers that can help people heal and feel better.

Popular colors for the Topaz gem enhancement include blues, greens, yellows, reds, and pinks. Jakkawan Gems is here to help you get your topaz gemstone in exactly the color that you want.

Quartz

Quartz is a rock crystal that has been used in creating crystal balls and bowls. Quartz gemstones are known by a variety of names, including amethyst, citrine, ametrine, rose quartz, onyx, agates, chrysoprase, and rutilated quartz. It is a very affordable gemstone, making it one of the most popular. Quartz is one of the most prevalent minerals in the earth’s crust and is found on all seven continents.

Quartz crystals vibrate at precise frequencies, making them perfect for use in watches, radios, and computers. Quartz is usually a colorless gemstone, but inclusions in the gemstone can change the color of the gemstone to blues, a milky color, or leave the gemstones looking like little rocks. The higher the quality of the original gemstone, the higher the quality of the enhanced stone. Consult with the staff at Jakkawan Gems to make sure you get a high-quality enhanced gem.

Popular colors for gem enhancement are reds, pinks, yellows, browns, blues, and greens. These colors are easily applied during the enhancement process, so you can be sure you’ll get exactly the color you want. Gems that are selected to undergo gem enhancement should be quality stones. The stones should be polished and ready for staging. Any inclusions in the stone can result in breakage during the enhancement process. Any stones that are found to be less than acceptable will be rejected for treatment.

Cubic Zirconia

Cubic zirconia is the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide. This stone is generally colorless and hard, but can be made in a variety of different colors. Cubic zirconia is a synthetic stone that most closely resembles a diamond. Because of its resemblance to a diamond, cubic zirconia is one of the most gemologically and economically important gemstones. Cubic zirconia can be found in a number of different colors, ranging from pinks and reds to blues and greens.

During gem enhancement, the popular colors are rainbow, reds, yellows, pinks, and greens. Jakkawan Gems is more than happy to help you find the color that will suit your needs best. These stones can be used in any type of jewelry, be it rings, necklaces, or bracelets. Having the right color stone is important to completing your piece.

Moissanite

Moissanite is a naturally occurring silicon carbide that is a rare mineral. This is a mineral that contains many hardness, optical, and thermal conductivity properties, making it useful in a number of different industries. Moissanite can be synthetically manufactured, but in its natural form it is very rare. Moissanite often occurs naturally as inclusions in diamonds and other ultramafic rocks.

The color of moissanite varies widely and is usually graded on the diamond color grading scale. The crystalline structure of moissanite makes these stones similar to diamonds and able to withstand higher pressure. Because of these properties, moissanite is considered the next evolution in gemstones and may become the primary stone of choice over a diamond.

It’s important that during the gem enhancement process, the intrinsic value of these stones is maintained. The closer a stone is to a diamond in characteristics, the more complicated the enhancement process can be. Each stone undergoes a unique enhancement process to ensure that the integrity and structure of the stone are maintained. The enhancement process isn’t just limited to the stones listed above.
